How I Work

Initial Image

Step 1

I added a gradient map layer, using a custom blue colour palette and reducing the opacity to 80%.

Step 2

I then added a curve adjustment layer to darken the shadows and midtones.

Step 3

After this, I added a levels adjustment to darken the image further so the image appears to be taken at night.

Step 4

I then used the quick selection tool and inserted an image of the night sky. I did not like the final result so I reverted back to my previous edit. I wanted to explore having various times of day through the images however I was limited to the amount of time to take these shoots. This is why I attempted to do this in post production.
